Graphic design and Wacom Tablets

If you do a lot of graphics you will frequently use the mouse. Graphic work is intensive for fingers, hands, wrists, elbow and even shoulder. After a while you may develop RSI/CTS. To help prevent this it's a good idea to use a pen tablet.

Wacom is a company that has dedicated itself to developing the perfect computer drawing tools in the shape of a pen and tablet. The use of these tools is surprisingly simple and easy to get used to. As a reseller of Adobe and Wacom we have all the Wacom tablets at your disposal.

Why a pen tablet?

When you start doing graphics on the computer you will soon notice something changes in your wrist, fingers or hand. You may also suffer from stress in your underarm, upper arm or even your shoulder.

The first signs are usually a 'dry' feeling in the wrists or a tingling feeling in the lower arm or shoulders. Even though this feeling may decrease after a day's rest damage may have already occured. This damage is cumulative, which makes it even more important to keep an eye on what's going on.

Using a Wacom tablet has the tremendous advantage that you relieve the tension on the fingers, wrists, elbow and shoulder. You use it like a simple pen, writing and working with it is as natural as when you use a 'real' pen.

Using a pen tablet

A pen tablet works in an intuitive way. Learning how to use it is simple. Many of the students who buy a tablet here can use it full time after just a few days practise and getting used to it. After a few weeks they usually switch to using it full time, not even thinking about it.

What's more: a tablet offers many surprising extras. It allows you to add special effects to the tools in, for instance, Illustrator and Photoshop. This makes your artwork even more dynamic and personal.

The extras of a Wacom tablet

As mentioned above, besides relieving the pain in joins using a Wacom tablet gives you great extras when you combine them with the Adobe software. As soon as you start using it you will notice Illustrator gives you the option to use pressure sensitive tools. This creates more natural lines and effects using the Illustrator and Photoshop software.
